She Kicks Classic Tournament

December 7th marked a historic moment for the Salinas Regional Sports Authority as we launched the first-ever all-girls high school soccer tournament in Monterey County at the Salinas Regional Soccer Complex, in partnership with North Salinas High School. This milestone event is critically important, as it provides local high school girls with the unique opportunity to compete in a tournament right here in the Salinas Valley.

For many young women in our community, traveling to tournaments often means overcoming significant barriers. By hosting this event locally, we are creating new opportunities that didn’t exist before, allowing these athletes to compete and rank in a high-caliber tournament without the need for extensive travel. This empowers them to showcase their skills, strengthen their competitive spirit, and continue their growth as athletes—all within their own community.

As tournament director Ana Gutierrez shared, “This tournament celebrates the future of our community, highlighting the incredible talent of our young women while fostering unity through competition.” This event is not just about soccer—it’s about opening doors, creating pathways, and building a brighter future for the next generation of female leaders in our community.
