The Salinas Regional Soccer Complex proudly hosted the Alianza Cup on August 9–10, marking the first time this nationally recognized tournament was held in Salinas—and cementing the city’s place on the national soccer map.

Alianza de Futbol selected the Salinas Regional Soccer Complex as one of just eight host sites nationwide for its 2025 tour, with Salinas standing out as the smallest city by population to earn the distinction. Known as the leading organization supporting opportunity and advancement in Latino soccer, Alianza’s presence represented a major milestone for both the Complex and the broader community.

The two-day tournament drew hundreds of players, families, and scouts from across the country, creating a high-energy showcase of elite talent and opportunity. Local pride was on full display as Salinas Soccer Feminil, the reigning two-time Alianza Cup champions, competed on their home fields with the chance to defend their title in front of a hometown crowd.

“Hosting the Alianza Cup underscores Salinas’s emergence as a premier destination for high-level soccer and player development,” said Jonathan De Anda, General Manager of the Salinas Regional Soccer Complex. “It reflects both the quality of our facilities and the strength of the soccer community here.”

The Alianza Cup weekend exemplified the Complex’s mission to expand access, elevate local talent, and connect Salinas to national pathways in sport—while bringing visibility, visitors, and economic activity to the region.

Salinas Makes Its Alianza Debut with a Weekend to Remember

A debut to remember!

On the weekend of August 9–10, we arrived in Salinas, CA, for the first time with the 2025 Tour — and the city responded with packed fields and stands, creating a weekend that will live on in the memories of players, families, and fans.

More than 400 young talents took part in the Allstate Sueño Alianza tryouts, aiming to impress scouts from Liga MX and MLS. Among them, Jordan Rosado, Jocelyn Clayton, and Aiden Barragán stood out, earning their place at the Allstate Sueño Alianza National Finals, scheduled for October or November (exact date to be confirmed). There, they’ll get another chance to showcase their skills in front of scouts and compete against the top players identified throughout the 2025 Tour, with the goal of taking the next step toward a professional career.

In the adult divisions, Oaxiro Morelia captured the men’s title in Copa Alianza, while Silicon Valley FC took top honors in the VIX Alianza Femenil category, proudly leaving their mark on this inaugural stop.

The celebration continued off the field in the sponsor village, where King’s Hawaiian served its famous bread and giveaways, while Chobani offered nutritious yogurt and fun activities for the whole family. Music, prizes, surprises, and unique experiences made sure everyone left with something special.

In the youth competitions, eight teams were crowned champions across the different Copita Alianza categories, while six more lifted trophies in Alianza 5v5 — a fast-paced small-sided tournament that kept the excitement going from start to finish.

Next up, the Tour heads to Los Angeles, CA, on August 23–24, marking the start of the home stretch for the 2025 Tour as we continue bringing the passion of fútbol to Hispanic communities nationwide.
