Current expansion plans will make it the largest facility of its kind between San Francisco and Los Angeles, providing a resource for enhanced physical, mental, social, and economic well-being in the Salinas Valley. Our ambitious plans are supported by a 50-year lease on the land, with the option to extend for an additional 40 years, ensuring that the Salinas Regional Soccer Complex will serve the community for generations to come.

COMMUNITY
TRANSFORMATION

Envisioning Community Transformation Beyond the Fields

Goal: Uniting the community around healthy lifestyles, access to sports and healthcare, and safe shared greenspaces
At the Salinas Regional Soccer Complex, our goal is to transform previously unusable land into dynamic spaces that promote community engagement and quality family time; a healthy environment available to all where our youth can learn, grow, develop, expand their skills and realize their potential.

By re-purposing dormant land into affordable sports and recreational facilities, we will host community events so healthy lifestyles can flourish. Expanded greenspaces will provide a vital respite from mental health burdens, and safe and engaging environments for our youth and families will positively impact self-esteem, health, safety, and overall long-term success and well-being.

Unlocking the Power of Youth Sports

Goal: Cultivating economic opportunities in a premier sporting facility through recreational play and competitive events

Monterey County families invest a significant portion of their limited income in kids’ athletics. But how much of that money benefits our local community? While some spending goes to online retailers, a substantial portion circulates within the local economy through purchases at nearby sports shops, post-game celebrations at local eateries, and team snack purchases at neighborhood grocery stores.
5 Reasons Community Sports and Recreation Facilities Are Smart Investments
  1. Contribute to the public bottom line
  2. Boost business and job prospects
  3. Save healthcare dollars
  4. Pave the path for college and career
  5. Reduce youth crime
The expansion to become the largest facility of its kind between San Francisco and Los Angeles will attract teams that currently travel to Watsonville, Morgan Hill, or farther, bringing them right here to our community. The Salinas Regional Soccer Complex will attract more participants, tournaments, and spectators and pull outside dollars into our local economy, stimulating business growth and employment opportunities. It will help businesses launch, expand, and hire. With Salinas’ disadvantage in income levels—ranking in the 84th percentile compared to the national average— this economic boost will be key to help lower the unemployment rate and increase income levels.

YOUR NAME AS A LANDMARK

Empowering Futures through Your Brand

A big part of our healthy lifestyle initiative at the Salinas Regional Soccer Complex is our enthusiasm for outdoor activities, and for our youth – competitive sports, not as spectators or video game avatars, but on the field. Soccer is the most popular sports in our community, particularly for boys and girls ages 5 to 18. Just as it has grown to be the second most popular youth sport in the nation, soccer or “futbol” has had equally explosive growth in our area.

A LANDMARK

Naming of the
Sports Center

Investment $10,000,000

This includes every communication, tournament, logo, and web page associated with the sports center. Your name will literally be on the map, as we will ensure that the official name of the sports park appears in Google and Apple maps. This is truly a unique opportunity to leave your mark on the community and preserve your legacy for future generations.

Celebration
Plaza

Investment $3,000,000

Celebration Plaza will be the main courtyard in the center of the sports center. It will be a place that celebrates our community, families, and donors. The plaza will feature a large statue inscribed with the names of all donors.

Championship Turf
Soccer Field

Investment $3,000,000

The Championship Field will be the main event of our new facility. This fully lighted, regulation sized field will have stadium seating for 3,000 guests, a media box, and player locker rooms.

Facilities like our championship field will be what truly makes our sports center stand out.

13 Heritage Grass
Soccer Fields

Investment $2,000,000

Currently, over 100 games are played on these fields every weekend, a number which we expect to grow with the expansion. These fields include seven fields for our 13 and up teams, three fields for the 11-12, two for the 9-10 teams, and two for the 8 and under teams.

New Fully Lighted

Having this new grass field fully lighted means that it can be used for longer hours year round, making fields available for practice, training, and games in the evenings after school and work.

2 Championship
Locker Rooms

Investment $500,000 Per Locker Room

State of the art locker rooms specifically for players using the Championship Field.

6 New Grass

Fully Lighted Turf
Soccer Field

Investment $1,500,000

This fully lighted field is one of two turf fields planned for the expansion, the other being the Championship Field. These turf fields will be open year round, when our grass fields are closed for necessary maintenance or weather conditions. Fully lighted fields also mean that these spaces can be used into the evening, allowing more games and practices to occur after work and school hours.

This field will also include the necessary markings to allow it to be used as two smaller fields when required.

Sand Courts For Volleyball
and Beach Soccer

Investment $1,000,000

These multi-use sand courts can be set up for either 8 beach soccer fields or 12 beach volleyball courts.

Volleyball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the nation, yet many young people in Salinas Valley lack regular access to beach play. These courts would bring that experience to them, offering more opportunities for movement and play.

Beach soccer is crucial for developing players aiming to elevate their game. “Sand training” enhances fine muscle development, aids in injury prevention, and builds endurance.

BMX Pump Track

Investment $1,000,000

Pump tracks are popular recreational spaces that offer a safe, controlled environment for all ages and skill levels to improve their riding skills.

¾ Mile Walking Path

Investment $750,000

The new sports center will feature a ¾ mile paved walking path around the perimeter of our facilities. Here, parents and families can go for a gentle walk or take advantage of outdoor exercise stations while their kids are at practice or in between games, bringing opportunities for movement to the greater community.

3 Fully Lighted Multi-Sport
Game courts

Park Course

Investment $500,000
