The Salinas Regional Soccer Complex has reached an exciting milestone with the completion of two new artificial turf fields, marking the next phase in its transformation into a world-class sports hub.
For Jonathan De Anda, General Manager of the Salinas Regional Sports Authority, the progress is personal. “I grew up playing on these fields from the age of 4, and they weren’t as nice as they look today. Seeing how far we’ve come is really inspiring.”
Community members gathered to celebrate with music and the She Kicks Classic—the region’s first all-girls high school tournament. “It shows everyone what we’re capable of,” said North Salinas player Ariana Romero when speaking to KSBW 8. “Girls matter, and we’re more than good enough.”
With these new fields, the complex continues to grow, creating opportunities for athletes of all ages.
